Praise should go out to these guys for using indexed color PNG but they could have used a lower number than 64 (Auto) to get the size down. 17 would be recommended for most grayscale magazine scans, you could even get away with 6 if there aren’t any smooth gradients.

(about the original settings on the left, 17 middle and 6 right)
Deciding which you would like more.. a substantial smaller file size or keep fine dot pattern gradients (between 17/6)
